Paint correction is a fine process of removing paint imperfections from the clear coat of the car, these imperfections are the likes of swirl marks, light scratches, water spots and oxidised paint. After the correction we polish the paint to remove the hazing from the correction stage and bring that glossy look back to your paint.
We give the car a pre wash with a high Ph snow foam to loosen the dirt, then we go in with a acidic shampoo to contact wash the paint using the 2 bucket method. We then chemically and mechanically decontaminate the paint using iron removers, tar removers and clay bars. Now the paint is ready to begin the correction.
We will start of with a strong cutting compound with a wool or heavy cut pad to remove the majority of defects in the paint, we work in small areas at a time to ensure maximum effectiveness, this stage removes 70-80% of defects.
We wipe away the excess compound from the previous stage and go in with a finer polish or micro cut with a soft pad to bring back the gloss of the paint and to remove any hazing or smaller defects left behind by the second stage, then we use a IPA or panel prep spray to remove any leftover residue to reveal a glossy perfect finish on the paint.
After a correction or gloss enhancement, why not protect that finish with a 1, 2 or 3 year ceramic coating to protect the car against UV ray's and contamination. This also leaves behind a shiny hydrophobic layer on the paint.
